Meet the Shumba Girls: Young, Bold & Inspired

We are Tariro (14) and Michaela (11), sisters and young entrepreneurs with a passion for creativity. From a young age, we loved playing with fabric—designing doll clothes, making accessories, and styling our own outfits to stand out. What started as a fun hobby soon became something bigger.

At school, we joined the Commerce Crew Club, where we learned the basics of business. That’s when we realized: Why not turn our passion into something real? And so, Shumba Girls was born during the Christmas holidays—a brand inspired by our African heritage and our love for bold, unique designs.

"Shumba" means lioness in Shona. Like lionesses, we are fearless, strong, and determined, yet caring and committed to uplifting others. Though we are still young, we take our work seriously—every product we create is made with love, care, and quality craftsmanship.
